I always knew that Ernie was the stabilizing force for Bert. He was the social one, the happy one, the one who always went, "Tee hee hee hee" while playing with rubber duckies. Just watch this video of Bert gone
Travis Bickle, and you'll see why he never should've stopped being Ernie's roommate.
It is always an exciting afternoon when the FAO Schwarz holiday catalog arrives. While I may still be planning my Halloween activities, it is never too early to sit down and thumb through the book of extravagant toys for children of all ages. This year's edition was filled with massive stuffed animals and a $10,000 military ATV, but what really caught my eye was the new
Muppet Whatnot Workshop that is due to open next week.

You know you've thought about it before. What's up, you wondered, with those permanent bachelors Bert and Ernie? The Broadway musical Avenue Q, inspired by Sesame Street characters all grown up with adult troubles, has an awesome song Nicky (the Ernie-ish character) sings to Rod (the Burt character).

Oprah may not be the hottest ticket in town anymore. Sure, the talk queen has scored interviews with some of Hollywood's hottest, but this season
Sesame Street has got some big names on the block. From David Beckham to Jessica Alba and Heidi Klum to Jack Black.

"One two three four, monsters walking across the floor. I love counting, counting to the number four. .

When there's rhyme in the streets, it's time for RSI: Rhyme Scene Investigation. These folks need to head over to the nearest spoken word event, if you asked me. (I love the David Caruso Muppet, y'all, and he's just as smug as the original!)
The 39th season of
Sesame Street is set to debut on August 11, so the Children's Television Workshop has provided us with a sneak peek at one of the celebrity acts to join Elmo and friends on set. Popular Canadian singer
Feist will kick off the season with a special rendition of her “1 2 3 4” song.
The new season will feature a host of guest celebrity appearances, including Will Arnett, Jessica Alba, David Beckham, Heidi Klum, Neil Patrick Harris, Sandra Oh, Jenny McCarthy, Jason Taylor, and Jack Black.

If your
Garbage Pail Kids cards are long forgotten (or Pokemon perhaps?) it might be time for a new set to collect and trade. Who might be better than a pack of media luminaries who've changed the tenor of discourse? The folks at
Reclaim the Media know that it takes more than a .400 batting average to make a difference and wind up on a card — that's why they've
created their own Media Heroes trading cards.

This particular episode of
Sesame Street was brought to us by the letter "F." In keeping with the theme of the program, the Cookie Monster was to use a word beginning with the letter "F" to describe the fabulously fantastic cookie in his hand. One of
Jimmy Kimmel's censors, however, didn't approve of the Cookie Monster's word choice and gave him the *bleep*.
