I don't care how much it hurt. A woman's Prince Charming will never have the face of Hannibal Lecter inked into his skin. It just defies the laws of common sense and sensibility. You would have been better off getting, oh I don't know, a recliner etched onto your butt. It's still scary, but not in that flesh-eating serial killer sort of way.

I think that the art of tattoo is overshadowed by the conventions of our society. I personally think that this tattoo is a realistic interpretation of the character that Anthony hopkins portrayed. It isnt about shock factor but about the art that is being passed on. Besides, film horror is a huge cult thing that many ppl follow, there are conventions and clubs and such that ppl join and find joy in exchanging thier ideas and memorabilia. Us as sophisticated women might not find this attractive, but to a woman of like minded interests might find this tattoo appealing and artful. I personally dont see the difference between this tattoo and one of someone grandfather. It's immortalized, if only for a lifetime on someones skin. I am sure there is more to the story than what meets the eye. Obviously there is if you look at the other horror tattoos that you graciously gave links to for all to see.
