I know you guys always have something to say about your choice of feminine hygiene products, so you may be interested in the new and improved Tampax Cardboard. This is the first upgrade to Tampax Cardboard since its introduction in 1936! To thank Tampax for their sponsorship, we are thrilled to let you know how you can upgrade your gym bag with this awesome new tampon.

The new Tampax Cardboard has revolutionary 3-way leak protection including:

  • A built-in backup™ skirt
  • An absorbent core to fit your unique form
  • An anti-slip™ grip for precise placement

Now that's an upgrade! It's nice to know you can have all those features in a tampon that doesn't have a plastic applicator. Yep, it is the greening of feminine hygiene products. Sound cool? Sign up for a free sample.

These feel like they are about to slide right out. One good sneeze and they ar egone for sure! I just bought 4 packs of 100 at Costco of the old style and I hope that tampax will reissue the old version before those are gone!

I can't wear tampax. I can feel them the whole time they are in...something about the way they expand i think, instead of expanding like playtex does, in a circle, they expand horizontally *shudder* I know it is not good for the environment, but give me the playtex easy glide plz!

I HATE Tampax Pearl but love Tampax Sport. I normally use Playtex though.

i like tampax compak. its convenient to just slip in my purse and leave a few in my car.

when i was in hs, we had a dance recital and i had my period and was mainly using pads at the time. of course i couldn't wear one with my costume so someone got one from her mom and brought me back an ob. i remember sitting in the bathroom staring at the thing wondering if she had forgotten to give me the rest of it.

Lint, LMAO. I never could use OB. I prefer an applicator, otherwise its just weird to me.

I really prefer the old outdated version to these new ones.

I've only ever used cardboard apps - these are my go to tampons and they've never been a problem.

I imagine different things work for different people! I would like to try out the sport ones though, just to see.

To me, a tampon is a tampon.. I never really noticed a difference. And while some might have easier application, it's about 3 seconds of comfort/discomfort.. nothing I really cared about.

Tampax Sport is the worst tampon I have EVER used! My friends and I got free packs at school in the gym. Everyone (we all have different flows and whatever) said that they LEAKED and they could feel them the whole time. Also, almost everyone said the string either broke or was annoying to pull out. Good thing they were free!

Ditto to sillyjr up top. These new ones feel like they're going to fall out and I am totally conscious that it's there. I think I want my old tampax back... Maybe it had been the same since 1936 because it worked!

ugh I'm glad Tampax works for some of y'all, but I can't stand them!

I've tried every brand out there, and will never go back to anything else after finding 7th Generation organic cotton tampons. Best tampon ever! And to top it off, fewer chemicals to harm your body or the environment in its manufacture.

I'm not joking, these are the worst tampons I've used in my life!!! They stick in the applicator and I have to stop attempting insertion to start pushing it through! I don't like the size either, they're wider and smaller in length, and they don't fit my body. These are not comfortable and I don't like them~!

The new design is NOT an improvement! I really hope they bring the original design back or I'm switching brands. sad.
Here's my thoughts after using a couple...
    skirt? Ew!
    Anti-Slip grip? Not necessary!
    Redesign? Unfortunate!!
Does anyone know of any brand that is like the original Tampax Regular Absorbency Cardboard Applicator? Otherwise I'm going to have to go everywhere buying up any of the former-design Tampax boxes to last me till menopause (and that's ALOT of Tampons, girls!) sheesh!

I'm with krmskt. I loved the old Tampax! I just bought a box of the new ones and I was not a happy camper this week. If I have to go through this every month, I want to use a good tampon. krmskt, watch out cuz you have competition in stocking up on the old kind until menopause!

Well, that's blatant editorial advertising. Don't like this - the ads should stay on the sides and the top banner.

It's interesting that they're upgrading the cardboard. Is this for the environment?

have tried the new ones and hate hate hate them. they DO feel like they are going to fall out or leak. i never worried about leaking with the old ones. they are just awful. i think i'll be stocking up on the originals too. unfort, the local grocery store only stocks the new ones. i encourage all you ladies who like the old ones to use your voice and email them to bring them back.

I'm always amused by the "precise placement"- how can you "misplace" a tampon? :S

I'm in love with Tampax Sport right now. It's the first tampon I've tried that has never leaked! Although, I've been considering the Diva Cup.

hey ya'll! without the ads, this site wouldn't be as good as it is, have as many different sections, and wouldn't be able to give out such great freebies! atleast there are no flashing banner ads, or spytware or malware! I love sugar for this very reason!

o.b. is the best because it's sleek, biodegradeable, and just plain fits from start to finish. I learned without an applicator back in the day so that's no big deal for me. Tampax does nothing for me.

I fail to see how(except in the way of it being more "eco-friendly") a CARDBOARD applicator tampon is an upgrade.

I hate the cardboard ones. I do not find that any of the tampax kinds are comfortable or fit good.
