I don't understand... why are they going to jail?

I looked this up, butifulparty: They're pleading guilty to conspiracy charges. Basically, it's a separate Federal crime to conspire or agree with someone to do something which would amount to another Federal crime. So these guys aided and abetted folks in doing illegal things through this Whizzinator device, whose sole purpose was to create false drug test results.

The Whizzinator is still a great name, though. You can't take that away.

Thanks for trying to clear that up but I'm still confused. I've never heard of any of those companies that have sold urine cleanser products for all of these years getting into any kind of trouble. I had no idea that it was illegal. Maybe their product just did the job too well?

And yes, intentionally diluting or faking urine (tampering with specimen, if you will) for a job- or state-required drug test is indeed very much illegal. So it only makes sense that conspiring to do so is illegal as well.
