Do Tell: Have You Ever Had a Blind Date Go Bad?

Blind dates can be really fun if you get set up by someone who knows you really well (dating your mailman's son may not be the best idea), but I know people who refuse because they've had horrible experiences in the past. Maybe the guy was texting his ex-girlfriend while watching a movie with you, or perhaps he kept reaching over to your plate at dinner to help himself to your meal. To see a blind date start off on the wrong foot, watch this comical clip below.

I guess the only thing worse than a blind date is an unexpected double blind date — Ha! Is your story worse than that? It may make you feel better to share it the comment section below.

Yes I have the worst blind date in the history of blind dates.

A couple years ago a friend of mine kept bugging about a friend of her boyfriend who wanted to meet me. She ended up giving him my number and after a few days of us talking over the phone, I agreed to meet him for dinner. On the night of the dinner he called me to say his car wasn't starting up and if I could swing by his place to pick him up. While there, we started talking and I was actually enjoying myself and we started playing video games and by the time we realized it, it was pretty late, so then he was like oh well it's to late for dinner and asked if I wanted to watch a a movie. After I said sure, he went into his room to get a movie and when he came out he was NAKED. I was like WTH? And he was like what and said "Why don't we make our own movie" and had the nerve to start jacking off right there in front of me, after telling him a few things about himself, I hightailed out of there as fast as I could.

^LoL, I would've probably jumped out the window the second I saw him step out of his room naked. I figured he wanted to try something when I noticed you ended up staying instead of picking him up. I guess the moral of this story is offer jumper cables Sticking out tongue. I'm glad you're okay though, some weirdo hah.

Well never had a blind date...kinda of scared to go on one...but maybe I won't ever have to. -_-

YES! The guy and I had absolutely nothing in common. He was far from being my type, and I guess I wasn't his type either. It was bad, bad, bad, and that was the first and the last time I was ever on a blind date.

lol I figured that he was an ok guy because we spent days talking on the phone getting to know each other and my friend's boyfriend is a pretty cool dude so I was under the assumption that his friend was an ok guy. Big mistake. Now I get a good laugh out of it and my friend.

Went on a blind date with someone a friend set me up with. We hit it off, and he invited down to his home in Central Oregon. The day before I was going down for the weekend, he called me and told me his best friend had just shot and killed himself. I told him I felt terrible and that I wouldn't come. He insisted I come anyway, so like an idiot, I did.

He spent almost the entire weekend with the guy's wife and kid and basically minimal time with me. Never heard from him again after I left. Found out later he married the grieving widow.

Have had many blind dates that went nowhere, and then this one that might have had potential ended up like this!

Hasn't turned me off to them though...I just make sure it's a limited time frame, like drinks or coffee, then you are not in it for hours if there is no chemistry. Just have an open mind with NO expectations except meeting someone new.

Freshman year of college I went on a couple of really bad blind dates. Both guys were really creepy - one was under the misapprehension that he was black (he was a tall, skinny white guy), while the other just stared at me all night and rocked back and forth while driving.

You would think those bad experiences would scare me off from blind dates, but no. I met my ex on a blind date sophomore year of college; he turned out to be a total a**hole.

After all that, I was DONE with blind dates, lol.

Oh dear Myst, that's beyond awful. It's so weird to me that creepy guys like that don't seem to understand that that kind of thing isn't going to fly, especially with someone they just met.

And I have to say, the guy in this video has one of those icky douche-bag laughs (when he goes "heh heh, great").

Omfg Myst... what kind of person thinks that is even anywhere near the realm of acceptable behavior?! Ewww!

And that poor girl in the video. This should be a Beano commercial.

Wow, I thought I'd had some bad blind dates, but Myst, yours takes the cake.

I think my worst blind date was a guy who was hungover, proceeded to drink his way through our date, and the whole time tell me about his ex (who he clearly wasn't over). I put him in a cab as soon as dinner was done and deleted his number immediately.

The worst blind date ever was with a coworker of one of my friends when I was 18. We went out to dinner at some local diner and all he talked about was his sister. He never mentioned any friends.

Afterward, we were supposed to see my friend's band playing nearby but he told me he needed to grab his jacket from his apartment. I stood in the doorway as he ran in to get it, and when he turned on the lights, my jaw dropped. Throughout the apartment were rows and rows of empty VENDING MACHINES. (There were literally only 2 walkways into his kitchen and bedroom.) When I asked him about it, he said he was trying to start a new business.

Then, I looked over and saw two stacks about my height of tupperware containers next to his TV. I asked about that too, and he smiled and said, "Those are my tadpoles."

I was about to run out, and then the icing on the cake: He turned on his stereo, blasted Enya, and then tried to make out with me.

He's still saved in my phone as, "WTF DONT ANSWER."

My story's not nearly as bad as these, but horrible nonetheless. A friend of mine tried to hook me up with this guy she worked with when he found out he also did yoga, like me. She said he was cute, quiet, and nice. When he picked me up, we went for a walk before dinner. After like 20 minutes, he said, "I have something to tell you. I was nervous at those words... He said, "I'm a recovering heroin addict and alcoholic." He even showed me the scars on his arms and told me about how he almost died of a drug overdose and that's what got him to quit. I was happy for him, and it was great that he wanted to be honest but geez - a little too much too soon.

No idea. He said that he just loved tadpoles and that they were his pets. I'm not even exaggerating--there were so many of them.

The only good thing about that date from hell was the fact that it makes a great story now, and that I usually win the, "who's had the worst date ever?" argument between my friends, haha.
