Do Tell: What's Your Uplifting Fix?

Sometimes when you're feeling blue — you got demoted or broke up with your boyfriend — the smallest thing can pep you up, just like that. For some it's ordering your favorite comfort food, for others it's splurging on that top you had your eye on but couldn't justify buying, and for still others, it's as simple as calling up your best friend for a good old fashioned vent session. Treating yourself always makes you feel better, and while I'm not an advocate of giving into your vices every time the going gets tough, I admit I like to do a little of all three when I've had a bad day! So what about you? Do tell, what's your instant upper when you're feeling down?

I shop, sometimes I don't even buy anything, I'll head to the mall, get something to drink (frapp or smoothie) and walk around until I've lost some of the tension. I think of it as a form of exercise Laughing out loud

Pedicure or hanging out with my girls. Also, chillin with my mom always makes me feel better too.. and a nice big hug from my boyfriend.

A BIG HUGE BURRITO FROM CHIPOTLE. After that I lay on the couch in a self-indused food coma.

lol not the healthiest pick-me-up, but it's my favorite!

Either go to the gym... I workout better when I'm angry or having issues.

    Or

Head to In 'n Out and get a Double-Double, with fries, Iced Tea and a chocolate shake... sit and home and put on Flipping Out or some show I'm really into at the time.

    Or

Get Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

I read something light. This was a good trick last spring, I was a bit homesick sometimes at new town.

    Bottle of wine..or two. Eye-wink

I like to cook as well...when I'm angry or upset, I mull things over while I'm cooking which takes my mind off of the problem.

I go shopping. Or, if I'm at home, I put on my biggest pieces of fine jewelry, and relax on the couch. Bling jewelry makes me happy. Smiling

Without a doubt, listening to music. Preferably spending some time alone, but still talking it out with friends over the phone or online. And probably some form of carbs.

Either go browsing at the mall (If I really want, I'll splurge on one item); napping/watching hours of mindless TV; eating a GOOD MEAL (I call my boyfriend up, and instantly, I have a dinner companion and a free meal); or I call my boyfriend and he comes over, day or night, to console me like a baby; sometimes, exercise.

Starbucks cafe mocha. Chocolate & coffee together - what could be better than that?! Otherwise, Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

Are we seeing a trend here?
