Although I don't any kids, I remember my mom telling me that on my first day of pre-school, she watched me happily trot away to play with the other kids and she promptly sat in the car and wept. Sad It must be a joyous but also sad occasion when your child begins to gain his/her independence!

My first day going back to work after maternity leave my son was happily playing with my mother-in-law and could've cared less when I left. Now at 9mos he still doesn't care he's too busy playing. Sad So much for separation anxiety.
